Beneficial and Inspiring Books to Read
What beneficial and inspiring books would I read if spending 5 weeks holiday with no television?
I believe that 90% of TV is depressing and a holiday of reading is time well spent.
My Top Five
Number 2 is Think and Grow Rich. Napoleon Hill spent over 20 years meeting and studying the most successful men in America. He wrote about their common modes of thought and action.
Number 3 is Exodus by Leon Uris.
The Exodus is the founding myth of Israel about the Israelites delivery from slavery by their god, Yahweh. The book by Leon Uris is the epic story of two generations of Jews striving to reclaim Palestine as a homeland after 2,000 years of dispersion.
The film version starring Paul Newman helps to understand the background of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

No prize for guessing that number 5 is The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Classon. The story, based on a time over 2000 years ago, is still relevant today. The message being save 10% of what you earn.
These five inspiring books should keep our listener busy reading over their 5 weeks holiday. No doubt much better off than 5 weeks of watching TV.
Until next week …
